About ACTRU

ACTRU members at our annual summer party in 2022!

We take a multidisciplinary, basic science to clinic translational approach to designing patient-oriented experimental and clinical trials for aging and dementia. These involve advanced digital health assessments, neuroimaging, and ultra-sensitive molecular biomarker detection technologies in blood, cerebrospinal fluid and brain tissue.

Goal:

Our mission is to enable and synergize research for the discovery and development of promising therapeutics and associated diagnostics for brain disorders affecting cognition, emotion, and behavior.

We strive to:

-Generate knowledge about complex brain disorders
-Invent and test diagnostic and mechanistic biomarkers of brain disease
-Implement innovative, proof-of-concept clinical trials to speed therapeutics development

Our aim is for ACTRU to be an academic nexus and operational core facility for basic, translational, and clinical neurosciences, neuroimaging, and therapeutics.
